We brought the new year in with a wine tasting from the Piedmont Region of Italy. This northwestern area of Italy is in the foothills of the Alps and is one of Italy's best wine-growing districts. There is something for everyone from the lightest of whites to sweet sparklers to reds of great longevity. We tried some new varietals, such as Barbera, Arneis, Dolcetto, and Cortese.
